Multibanco is a trusted payment method in Portugal, founded in 1985, offering the convenience of cash payments to online customers. As the leading payment option in Portugal, Multibanco processes around 900 million transactions per year.
This Portuguese interbank network is operated by SIBS (Sociedade Interbancária de Serviços SA) and has the largest interbank network. It connects the ATMs of 27 Portuguese banks, forming the largest network in Portugal.
Multibanco is the most popular payment method in Portugal since its inception in 1985.
It is a post-payment method. This means that a reference is generated at checkout, and the customer can then go to the ATM and pay physically with a debit card (within X days), or online through the Multibanco online banking environment.

If conditions permit, I like to use Apple Pay. In theory, NFC is the most secure. And you only need to press twice and touch Face ID. It is also very convenient online. Meituan, Didi and Duoduo all use this.
