Afterpay (known as Clearpay in the UK and EU) is a buy now, pay later payment method that allows shoppers to pay in four interest-free instalments (three in the EU), with the first payment due at the time of purchase.

Available to shoppers in Australia, the UK, Canada, the US, and New Zealand. Afterpay allows shoppers to register their Visa or Mastercard-issued credit and debit cards, bank accounts, or digital payments (such as Apple Pay and Google Pay) and complete their purchases in 4 or monthly instalments.

As of 2023, Afterpay is the most popular BNPL payment method in Australia and New Zealand, and the second most popular payment method in the US.

Customers pay only the down payment at the time of purchase. Afterpay pays the merchant the full upfront payment immediately, and collects the remaining balance from your customers in instalments over the standard payment schedule.
